My portrait at The Female Scientist
I am an Ecuadorian biologist, an ecologist, a bat lover, a runner, and an adventurer. I am permanently seeking new experiences and leranings that keep my curiosity awake. My goal as a scientist is to inspire and enthrall people into the importance of science for conservation.
During my career, I have been actively involved in projects to conserve Ecuador’s stunning biodiversity, including the design of an educational notebook for children with the aim of raising the commitment of people toward the protection of bats. I decided to pursue a graduate career to enhance my scientific background, and improve my communication skills to transmit my findings towards storytelling. I have the ambition to engage audiences beyond science and increase their interest to explore it in new ways.
My fascination for nature and wildlife encircles every activity that I take part in. Besides science, I enjoy outdoor sports, namely long-distance trail running, cross-country biking, and mountain climbing in my home country.
Altogether, I would say that I am a collector of experiences, moments, adventures, and friends…. ah yes! backpacks too.
